I have to buy a cheap homecoming dress

I have to buy a cheap homecoming dress practically on my own I will have $50 to spend on a dress and possibly new shoes I have black shoes that I can wear but it depends on what dress I'm getting, I need to find a homecoming dress cheap really soon so I can either go buy it online or in store.

I recommend you that you don't spend to much money on a homecoming dress, first of all in my prespective homecoming is not a big deal. it a time when people waist a whole lots of money and later find out it was a waist of money. Prom in the other hand is cool.

Try a consignment shop. they usually have inexpensive dresses that have been worn once or twice. also try thrift shops or other second hand stores. Most of the dresses are donated, so they are pretty cheap and you can take it and have it cleaned, which wont cost that much considering the price of a used dress. occasionally you can find some cheap dresses at yard sales. Since it's just homecoming and not prom or christmas dance, don't go all out on a fabulous, poofy dress. a simple, yet nice dress should be sufficient. avoid dress shops (ie david's bridal) because they charge more. Try JC Penney's, Goody's, Dillard's, places like that bc although they don't have the best dresses, they are cheaper. and don't forget sales racks.  

Well, that's not much to work with is it? However, there are a few places you can look Ebay of course comes to mind, you can find some real deals on there if you put the time in. Also craigslist and kijiji.com may help. I like to go to second hand stores and browse, Perhaps there is a consignment store in your area. Also a bridal store may have last seasons bridesmaids dresses on very cheaply this time of year. My advice is to spend most of the money on the prom dresses under $200 and wear cheap shoes, people don't really look at our feet as much as we think!

I'm not sure where you live, but I know that in my area we have bridal/formal resale shops that specifically carry wedding & formal dresses at very cheap prices. You may want to look in your yellowpages under resale shops to see if there might be one in your area. Another place to look would be e-bay if you are able to utilize your parents credit card and then give them the money, you can always find good deals there.
